Well ladies and gentlemen we have finally made it to the final month of 2017 and I must say if you blinked too many times this year flew by! I know many of us have learned some much needed lessons as well as getting a better and deeper understanding of our cosmic self. It gets to the point where
you have to realize your mortality is meeting up with your immortality aka your soul! The trials and tribulations of the soul ( at least for me!) have been greater than before but we all must know there is a reason behind it. I think the greatest challenge is not just recognizing the hardship but knowing how to handle it when it appears in different forms. My grandmother always told me that every 7 years we all go thru a change and she was correct about that. However, looking at from a different angle most would take that just as a physical change but we change physically every day without us knowing but what I am looking at is our coping skills when it comes to handling difficult parts of ourselves. Our ways of doing things needs to be changed in order to accommodate the new us that is slowly but surely emerging. It is not the easiest to embrace because we are not fully aware of why but the more we got into it, it will change the attitude of "why not" and the moment that occurs our way of thinking is altered.
Sometimes we think we really know ourselves until we get to a breaking point and realize how much of ourselves is still truly not mapped out all the way. For me it is like “ oh damn I thought I had myself figured out but I guess I have more work to do.” Lately I have been saying that a lot in my head over the last few months. To master oneself is a task of epic proportions because you begin to really learn more about yourself. You will come across things that you like, love and even parts of you that you hate and want to change immediately. It is hard enough to take criticism from other people but especially when you have to criticize yourself which can make you more delusional because you want to “ think” that you do not have to change. When in all actuality there are some parts of us that we need to throw out and start all over again. There is a quote that comes to mind when I think about this month topic “ be kind to yourself because there are parts of you that you are still learning.” Ultimately, we forget ourselves when it comes to being kind because we can be very hard on ourselves.
Think of it as this the good old fashion analogy of riding a bike: no matter how long it has been you can always remember how to ride a bike. You remember what it felt like to pick it up, getting it steady, placing a foot on the pedal, pushing off, placing the other foot on the other pedal , hoping on and riding off. It may take a very minutes to get use to again but then it all comes back in a flash. In mastering yourself you never forget the process that you took or how it changed you. It is the small victories that eventually mount to being large victories! It really boils down to this one question: What multi-dimensional part of yourself do you want to be? The possibilities are endless but it depends solely on you and how great you want to be.
