Good Day, Afternoon or Evening where ever you are in the world! Thank you for stopping by and seeing what is on my blog today. So much has occurred that I am in the mist of catching up on several different things both professional and personal, but I promise things will get back into order shortly. Honestly, I have tried several times to sit down and finally write/type this article, but I felt like there was more information that needed to be shared. Between January and whatever day, you are reading this many thing have shifted on the fundamental levels and it has caught our attention that it needed some much-needed tender loving care. One of the main things that I would consider that has been the focus at the beginning of the new decade is simply this: anything that is not helping you to mature and grow into your fullest and greatest potential will not be able to assist you in 2020. That means finally getting rid of old ways of thinking, doing, processing, analyzing etc. It is time for you to create new and better habits that not only will assist you creating a brand new you but to aid you in your everyday life decisions. However, some of us will get caught up in that ego trip but realize this that some parts of ego is not bad as my friend eloquently put it. Ego certainly has its much-needed benefits but one of things to consider is to let your inner man/woman rule the ego. As easy as it may sound it does have its challenges, but all challenges are not meant to break you but to enhance your all being. Once must simply keep their ego in check no matter the person, place or thing that is occurring at any given time or as I like to put it “ your ego is not your amigo!” Now that we are in another Mercury retrograde season that started Feb 16th and goes direct on March 9th I am quite sure it is going to be interesting. And we must not forget the New Moons and Full Moons that are happening too just remember that your perception is your reality but make sure that your perception is not so warped you forget to process the feels so that you can heal. I find it always helpful that at different times it is ok to go into hermit mode to really process everything that is happening, meditate to have a conversation with your spirit and it also breaks up the monotony of everyday life. We must remember that we are spirits having a human experience and not the other way around. During this time, you will be tested on every level imagined and it also makes me think of this quote I have come across numerous times “ I know God wouldn’t give me too much, but I wished He didn’t trust me so much.” Now done with all the babbling on let’s jump into the topic…

The story of Icarus and his father Daedalus…its is a very interesting story in Greek Mythology and the way I use to look as knowing or embracing the difference between hearing and listening; action and reaction; the risk and the consequence etc. As I got older I started to look at the story a little different and more along the lines of transition in our human experiences internal and external. Everyone wants the change on the outside and ignore the inner work that must be done to sustain our overall well-being and connection to the Source. In the story Daedalus was punished for achieving something the Gods/Goddesses did not want man to do and that was to fly and be like them and Icarus his punished was not listening to the wise advice his father gave him and flew to close to the sun and drowned in the sea ( take the time and read the entire story!) So, think about that same story but from a different and deeper perspective: Icarus and Daedalus represent intricate parts of our inner man/ outer man conflict. Logic verses intuition; and the consequences of staying the same verses transitioning to your better self. We all go through certain trials and tribulations that are either brought to us or brought on us to expand our way of living. Both characters in the story possessed characteristics that both our inner man and outer man require but at some point, at time they will come into harmony and balance. Daedalus can easily represent our intuition and how we are the creators of our lives and having the ability to manifest with the help of confidence, optimism, courage etc. However, Icarus can represent the logical aspect and our ability to take limited risks and wanting to stay the same. In some way we are either going to allow certain parts to burn off and fall into the sea and be gone or dig deeper than ever before and emerge after a period as an enlighten individual with a clear perspective and your faith is stronger, being able to follow through and focus on what spirit wants for you and having more confidence in yourself.

So, take into consideration during these energy shifts that happen daily and having to adapt yourself to seeing and even feeling more than before. Mercury Retrograde ( one of three) occurring earlier in the year is more than appropriate and I would think sets the tone for how you want the year to go for you. During this time, you begin to have that introspection and dialogue with yourself; creating a new life plan; time for plans and projects that are centered using your mind and soul; fixing some unclear things from the past with courage and seeking forgiveness. Talk about a mouthful! With everything to take in we must always keep in mind that once we become aligned with our true selves the wisdom of the Universe will guide us and we will grow into something we never imagined. As always, my intent for my blogs is never to tell anyone how to live but to help bring clarity and understanding because at the end of the day we are here to grow as a collective. Remember to be good to yourself and to others and #LiveLifePositive!
